Our first visit to Santa...

"Hmmmm, what do I want??"

So we took Adam to see Santa last weekend at Russell's nursery. It was a pretty good gig all things considered. The background was cute and all proceeds went to help a family pay for their son's liver transplant -- who can argue with that? Adam really is the perfect age to visit Santa. He doesn't have stranger anxiety yet and he was ooohhed and ahhhhed over by everyone there. There were a couple babies just a bit older than Adam and they were not so willing to sit on the jolly fat man's lap. We'll see how it goes next year...

Our First Thanksgiving!! (and posted on time at that!)

So today was our first Thanksgiving with Adam - who is most definitely at the top of what we are thankful for! We love you little man!

So as you can see, Adam got all dressed up in his new duds...and we headed off to my Uncle Mike's house for Thanksgiving Dinner. We've been talking to Adam about this for weeks and he really is at the perfect age to try all the Thanksgiving staples. Momo and Papa Toodles brought Adam's highchair and he was all set...

Alright, bring it on!
Adam's dinner included turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, green bean casserole, corn, jello, and bread. He ate and ate and ate...if we are counting volume of food for his size - he ate us all under the table!

Grandma holding out a spoon for Adam.

Working on that pincer grasp...love corn and bread!

After dinner at Uncle Mike's we headed to Max's mom's house to be with them for dinner. It is the first Thanksgiving without Max's Dad and Grandma so it was a bittersweet time for all. Max and I were stuffed so we didn't have anything there, but Adam managed to stuff in a few more bites...way to go champ!
So the question remains....Adam, what did you think of your first Thanksgiving??

It was great, Mom! Can we do it again tomorrow?

Born in 2009 (Adam's first 4th of July)

So we spent the 4th of July at our friends Ryan and Bridgett's house having a nice BBQ and then watching the fireworks at the fairgrounds from their lawn. As you can see, the above t-shirt was as red, white, and blue as Adam got. Good thing I snapped this picture when I did because he promptly filled his diaper and it overloaded out the side, onto the poor unsuspecting person holding him (Ryan's mom) and then it plopped onto the sidewalk....sorry for the TMI.

"Mom, where are these fireworks you keep talking about? Let's get the show started!"

Before the fireworks it was diaper changes and pajamas for Adam and Ally (Ryan and Bridgett's new little girl). Then a photo op where Adam got his first kiss from a giiiirrrrlll. Or wait, was she trying to take a bite out of him?

Then on to the big fireworks show....

Well you can see what Adam thought of fireworks. He slept through them on his Daddy's lap.

Happy 4th of July, Adam! We can't wait to see you toddling around next year at this time.
